In the second quarter of 2022, the top News and Magazines apps on Android in Kenya demonstrated dynamic performance metrics. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, reveals interesting trends in downloads and active users for Citizen Digital, Opera News: breaking & local, Twitter Lite, Mozzart Sport Kenya, and Scooper News: News Around You.

Citizen Digital experienced a steady increase in weekly downloads, peaking at around 17K in mid-May. The app's weekly active users also saw a gradual rise from approximately 94K at the end of March to around 108K by the end of June.

Opera News: breaking & local saw a fluctuating trend in weekly downloads, starting at 22.5K at the end of March and dropping to around 9K by the end of June. The app's weekly active users followed a declining trend from 314K at the end of March to around 290K by the end of June.

Twitter Lite maintained relatively stable weekly downloads, averaging around 10K throughout the quarter. The app's weekly active users hovered around the 10K mark, showing slight fluctuations but remaining consistent overall.
